Carved from New Zealand greenstone, this one-off large Koru sculpture showcases deep, rich greens with soft, lighter clouded tones. It was hand carved by Lee-Roy Mullings (Ngāti Kahungunu) at his bench in Arrowtown, drawing on forty years of working pounamu. The finish is his signature: the negative space is cut away first, the spiral shaped around what’s left, then polished right back until the stone speaks for itself. The natural rough skin frames the glassy koru as it spirals through the stone, while the back is polished smooth to reveal its full depth of colour.
Inspired by the unfurling fern frond, the koru is one of the most recognised symbols in te ao Māori. It represents new beginnings, growth, strength and inner peace, a reminder that life is always moving forward. Set on a natural driftwood base shaped by water over time, it makes a meaningful centrepiece for the home or a gift to mark a new chapter. Presented in eco-friendly packaging with a koru meaning card and care card.

Durability: While pounamu (greenstone) is celebrated for its robustness, its dense nature makes it vulnerable to shock. Handle with care to maintain its integrity.
Protection: Avoid placing or wearing your pounamu on hard surfaces where it might get chipped.
Wear Often: Wear your pounamu frequently to enhance its shine with your natural skin oils. The cord is durable but will naturally wear over time.
Cleaning: Simply use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap for your pounamu. Beeswax or coconut oil can also be applied to moisturise the stone. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they may harm its surface.
