Carved from New Zealand greenstone, this Hei Matau is a taonga of pure craftsmanship. Adorned with a black binding, it features three intricately carved holes that represent the journey of life and the interconnectedness of the sea. These holes symbolise important life milestones and the bonds that connect us to whānau (family), each other, and the ocean (te moana). This Hei Matau is worn for protection and good luck, symbolising strength and safe travels. The wearer is seen as a provider and protector, with the determination to lead and find success in life.
