Hand-carved from New Zealand pounamu, the handle cut and polished from a single stone, a band of pale inanga flows through the deep green, catching the light where the stone turns translucent.
Paired with a full tang, drop-point carbon steel blade, the steel runs the entire length of the handle for strength and balance. Hardened and tempered in-house by Bryan Baker, who makes his Svord blades in Waiuku, in collaboration with Lee-Roy Mullings (Ngāti Kahungunu), who has carved pounamu in Arrowtown for four decades.
The knife pictured is the one you'll receive. Comes with a leather sheath, and guaranteed against breakage under normal use.
Blade: 10 cm
Overall length: 20.5 cm
Blade thickness: 0.2 cm
Durability: While pounamu (greenstone) is celebrated for its robustness, its dense nature makes it vulnerable to shock. Handle with care to maintain its integrity.
Protection: Avoid placing or wearing your pounamu on hard surfaces where it might get chipped.
Wear Often: Wear your pounamu frequently to enhance its shine with your natural skin oils. The cord is durable but will naturally wear over time.
Cleaning: Simply use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap for your pounamu. Beeswax or coconut oil can also be applied to moisturise the stone. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they may harm its surface.
Within NZ courier: $4.50 or Free delivery on orders over $100 (1-2 days)

Returns: easy returns within 5 working days. Please contact us on hello@arrowtownstonework.co.nz
