The Kōuma breastplate, hand-carved from Kawakawa greenstone, showcases beautiful dark green & black tones, with luminous green flecks. Symbolising protection and hauora (well-being), this piece carries a substantial, weighty feel that embodies its strength and meaning.
The carved notches reflect traditional Māori carving, historically symbolising whakapapa (genealogy) and the passing of wisdom between generations. Today, these notches may also represent whānau members or loved ones, adding personal meaning to each pendant.
Paired with an adjustable tan handwoven cord for comfort. Presented in an eco-friendly box, it includes cards detailing its meaning and care—making it a treasured taonga.

Durability: While pounamu (greenstone) is celebrated for its robustness, its dense nature makes it vulnerable to shock. Handle with care to maintain its integrity.
Protection: Avoid placing or wearing your pounamu on hard surfaces where it might get chipped.
Wear Often: Wear your pounamu frequently to enhance its shine with your natural skin oils. The cord is durable but will naturally wear over time.
Cleaning: Simply use a soft, damp cloth and mild soap for your pounamu. Beeswax or coconut oil can also be applied to moisturise the stone. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they may harm its surface.
Within NZ courier: $4.50 or Free delivery on orders over $50 (1-2 days)

Returns: easy returns within 5 working days. Please contact us on hello@arrowtownstonework.co.nz
